Barbour Ponds State Park

Barbour Ponds State Park is one of Colorado's lesser known areas, but not for lack of things to do and see!

This state managed recreation area encompasses 50 acres with 80 surface acres. The lakes are a fisherman's dream, and support trout, catfish, crappie, bass and bluegill. Visitors

can fish in a quiet, prairie-like setting with views of Longs Peak and Mount Meeker. Three wheelchair accessible fishing piers throughout the park allow everyone to experience this peaceful setting.

Surrounding the lakes are 60 campsites that include tables and grills. A dump station and picnic facilities are also available on site. A short nature trail and guided nature walks provide information about the environment and wildlife of the park. This facility is open year-round.

No-wake boating, bird watching and nature photography are popular during the spring, summer and fall. During the winter months visitors enjoy ice fishing, ice skating and cross-country skiing.

This park is located east of Longmont on the lake-laden plains of central Colorado. Interstate 25 lies immediately east of the park and provides easy access to the facilities.
